Confirmed: Fallout Season 2 Given the Go-Ahead, Filming Location Unveiled via Tax Credit

Prime Video’s much-anticipated TV adaptation of the popular video game series, Fallout, has received an early renewal for its second season, ahead of its series debut on April 11. The confirmation comes from the California Film Commission.

According to Variety, Fallout Season 2 is set to be produced in California after Amazon MGM Studios secured $25 million in tax credits. While the first installment of the sci-fi drama was filmed in New York and Utah, the upcoming season will see production move to California.

What to expect from Fallout?

“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind – and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them,” reads the logline.

Executive produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the masterminds behind Westworld, and helmed by showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, Fallout promises a gripping narrative. The stellar cast includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Moisés Arias, Kyle MacLachlan, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, Rodrigo Luzzi, Annabel O’Hagan, and Xelia Mendes-Jones
