Emily Blunt looks stressed as ‘The Rock’ sits on her lap

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt may have starred together in the hit movie “Jungle Cruise,” but their recent appearance at the Oscars had everyone talking.

The Academy recently posted a black and white photo on Twitter, showing Dwayne crouched down and sitting on Emily’s lap while backstage at the ceremony.

The photo shows Dwayne, 50, looking serious as he sat on Emily’s lap while wearing a peach silk tuxedo jacket with a black bowtie.

Emily, 40, appeared mildly stressed out as she sat on a folding chair with Dwayne on her lap, dressed in a stunning white Valentino column dress.

The background was filled with formally dressed people as the two pals shared the hilarious impromptu moment.

Despite the humorous photo, the duo later presented the Best Animated Feature Film award to Guillermo Del Toro‘s Pinocchio during the show.

Emily and Dwayne have been open about their friendship in the past. In a 2021 interview with Parade, the mom of two admitted that she wasn’t sure what to expect the first time they met. “I went, ‘Oh, my God!,’ because I imagined him to be this sort of larger-than-life person with a personality to match,” she told the publication. “But he just said, ‘Hey, how are you?,’ and was so quiet and shy.”

While it may have been a light-hearted moment between friends, some fans were quick to point out the potential discomfort or inappropriateness of a man sitting on a woman’s lap without her consent, even if they are friends.

Overall, the photo captured a playful moment between two actors who clearly have a strong bond. Despite the stress of the Oscars, they found a moment to let loose and have some fun backstage. And who knows? Maybe we’ll see another collaborative project between the two in the future.
