Fast & Furious Takes Audiences Back to the Beginning With Legacy Trailers for the First 3 Movies

Fast & Furious is preparing for their farewell. The successful franchise that began in 2000 with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel at the helm has become a worldwide phenomenon and already has nine films released, with a tenth and an eleventh ready to mark the end of the road.

With the trailer for the next installment about to come out, the saga is inviting its fans on a nostalgic tour that covers each of the previous films, highlighting mainly the figure of Paul Walker, who tragically passed away in 2013 in a car accident.

The first Legacy trailer is reminiscent of that first movie where Brian and Dom met, with Walker’s character being an undercover cop who had to find out how underground racers obtained parts for their cars. Thus, he infiltrates Toretto’s group, where he ends up becoming his friend and falls in love with his sister, Mia. They end up going on separated roads just to be reunited once again in the fourth installment, which would be a new beginning for the whole saga.

The second Legacy trailer focuses on 2 Fast 2 Furious, the sequel that brought back Brian O’Conner but not Dom. Walker’s character recruits childhood friend Roman Pearce, and together they return to the world of races to transport dirty money from shady import-export dealer Carter Verone, whose business is based in Miami.

Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift Joins the Celebration

Despite having a completely different protagonist from the rest of the franchise, Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift is an integral part of the saga’s canon, thanks to Sung Kang’s beloved character, Han. Han was so well-received that they had to bring him back even though he presumably died.

Tokyo Drift centers on Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), who has always felt like an outsider but defines himself through his victories as a street racer. His hobby makes him unpopular with the authorities, so he goes to live with his father in Japan. Once there, and even more alienated, Sean discovers an exciting but dangerous new sport. The stakes are very high when Sean takes on the local champion and falls for his girlfriend.

At the end of the film, Dominic Toretto makes his triumphant return to the saga, appearing for a few seconds ready to run. Black is also back in F9, and a host of past Fast & Furious stars, preparing for the final run. Watch the Tokyo Drift Legacy trailer below:
