Jason Statham set to star in action thriller directed by Baltasar Kormákur
Black Bear and Stampede Ventures have announced an electrifying collaboration set to shake up the action genre: Jason Statham is slated to take the lead role in an upcoming adrenaline-fueled thriller helmed by acclaimed director Baltasar Kormákur.
The yet-to-be-titled film, penned by Ward Parry, promises an intense cinematic experience as it plunges viewers into the rugged landscapes of a remote Scottish island. Statham will portray the enigmatic Mason, a solitary figure whose tranquil existence is shattered when he becomes embroiled in a life-threatening ordeal after rescuing a young girl from a savage ocean storm.
As Mason battles to protect his sanctuary from a violent intrusion, he is propelled on a harrowing journey that forces him to confront the haunting specters of his past. With the project poised to commence principal photography in November, anticipation is running high for this gripping tale of survival and redemption.

Statham, who will also produce the film under his Punch Palace Productions banner, joins forces with an esteemed lineup of producers, including Kormákur, John Friedberg, Jon Berg, and Greg Silverman. Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler are attached as executive producers, adding further weight to the project’s pedigree.
Statham’s upcoming role follows his recent riveting performance in the 2024 action spectacle The Beekeeper and sets the stage for his next cinematic endeavor, the pulse-pounding thriller Levon’s Trade, directed by David Ayer and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast.
Meanwhile, Kormákur, known for his masterful direction in films like 2 Guns and “Everest,” returns to the director’s chair following the success of 2022’s Beast, starring Idris Elba and Iyana Halley.
