Fans of the hit series Game of Thrones have been eagerly awaiting any news of a potential spin-off series featuring the beloved character, Jon Snow. Recently, Kit Harington made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he addressed the rumors surrounding the spin-off.
In a playful exchange with host Jimmy Fallon, Harington joked about the possibility of returning to the character, saying “I walk down the street and I get recognized a little less nowadays, and it kind of hurts my ego, you know? I’m pretty close to like putting on some furs.” Harington even went as far as saying that he has a tally in his head of how few photos he gets asked for in a day, and if it gets below a certain number, he might consider doing a spin-off.
Despite Harington’s humorous approach to the topic, it seems that a show starring Jon Snow is indeed in the works. Last year, author George R.R. Martin confirmed the news and also revealed that it was Kit Harington himself who pitched the idea. Martin stated that he was involved in the creative aspect of the series and had been working with both Kit Harington’s team and his own team to bring the show to life.
As of now, the names of the writers/showrunners have not been cleared for release, but fans can rest assured that the Jon Snow spin-off series, along with other Game of Thrones projects, are still in the early scripting stages. With Kit Harington’s enthusiasm for the character and George R.R. Martin’s involvement, fans are sure to be in for a treat.
