Keanu Reeves Overcomes Injury to Complete Filming for New Comedy “Good Fortune”

Keanu Reeves, renowned for his action-packed roles in blockbusters like John Wick and The Matrix, recently demonstrated his dedication to his craft by persevering through a knee injury to complete filming for the upcoming comedy “Good Fortune.” Directed by Aziz Ansari, the film features Reeves in the role of a guardian angel, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Reeves encountered the setback during the early stages of filming in January 2024 when he tripped on a rug, resulting in a kneecap fracture. Despite the injury, Reeves soldiered on, demonstrating his commitment to the project. Ansari, speaking at this year’s CinemaCon, lauded Reeves as “such a trooper,” highlighting his determination to continue filming despite the physical challenge.

The injury forced adjustments to the filming schedule, with Reeves unable to perform certain salsa dancing scenes. However, Ansari reassured fans that these scenes would be filmed at a later date, allowing Reeves the necessary time to recover. Ansari’s admiration for Reeves’ dedication was evident as he recounted the incident, emphasizing Reeves’ willingness to continue working despite the setback.

“Good Fortune,” distributed by Lionsgate, features an ensemble cast including Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, and Keke Palmer alongside Keanu Reeves. While the release date is yet to be announced, the film promises to showcase Reeves’ comedic prowess and reaffirm his status as a multifaceted performer.
