Kevin Hart Gears Up for Heist Action in Netflix’s ‘Lift’ Preview

Netflix has unveiled a teaser for the forthcoming heist comedy Lift, featuring Kevin Hart in the role of skilled thief Cyrus Whitaker. Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film is set to premiere on January 12, 2024, exclusively on the streaming platform.

In the recently revealed preview, Kevin Hart is depicted engaging in action alongside his heist crew at an altitude surpassing 40,000 feet. Watch the clip below:

The upcoming movie from the filmmaker behind The Italian Job and Set It Off follows a group of professional thieves as they unite to thwart a terrorist attack orchestrated by their leader’s ex-girlfriend. To prevent the imminent threat, they embark on an extraordinary heist aboard a plane, soaring above 40,000 feet, with the aim of pilfering $500 million worth of gold from a secure vault.

The logline succinctly captures the plot: “A professional thief and his expert crew attempt the ultimate heist: stealing $500 million in gold from a vault on a plane 40,000 feet in the air.”

Joining Kevin Hart, who has been featured in various Netflix films like The Man from Toronto, Fatherhood, and Me Time, the cast of “Lift” includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Abby Gladwell, Vincent D’Onofrio as Denton, Billy Magnussen as Magnus, Jacob Batalon as N8, Jean Reno as Lars Jorgensen, and Sam Worthington as Dennis Huxley.

Additional cast members comprise Úrsula Corberó, Viveik Kalra, Yun Jee Kim, Burn Gorman, and Paul Anderson, promising a dynamic ensemble for this high-flying heist adventure.

Úrsula Corberó, known for her role in “Money Heist” and accustomed to heist-themed productions, is set to join the cast of the film as Camila. The ensemble also features Viveik Kalra, Yun Jee Kim, Burn Gorman, and Paul Anderson.

Originally slated for a Netflix release in August 2023, the upcoming comedy heist is a collaborative effort, co-produced by Matt Reeves of “The Planet of the Apes” fame, along with F. Gary Gray, Brent O’Connor, Patricia Braga, Genre Pictures, and 6th & Idaho. Producers for the film include Kevin Hart and Brian Smiley.
