Lance Reddick: Cause of death for star actor confirmed
On March 17th, Lance Reddick, famous for his roles in John Wick and The Wire, passed away due to heart disease, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ.
The certificate listed Ischemic Heart Disease and Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease as the causes of death.
These conditions, caused by plaque buildup in the arteries, are commonly known as hardening of the arteries. Reddick, who was 60 years old, collapsed in his Studio City backyard, and his wife Stephanie found him and called for emergency services.
Although his spokesperson confirmed that he died of natural causes, no further information was provided at the time.
Reddick co-starred with Keanu Reeves in the John Wick films, including the most recent installment, John Wick: Chapter Four. He was also set to appear in the spinoff movie Ballerina. In addition to his film work, Reddick had numerous TV credits, including Oz and Law & Order: SVU.
However, his most iconic role was that of Baltimore cop Cedric Daniels in HBO’s The Wire, which brought him critical acclaim.
