Nicolas Cage’s Dracula Is One Sucky Boss in Final Trailer for Renfield

"Nicholas Hoult's Renfield battles toxic vampire boss in new trailer for horror-comedy film."

Universal Pictures has just released the final trailer for Renfield. Set to hit the big screen on April 14, the film puts a spin on the Count Dracula story by imagining what would happen if the vampire’s titular henchman were to one day try to break from the toxic relationship, no longer wanting to do Dracula’s bidding.

Nicholas Hoult plays Renfield opposite Nicolas Cage as Dracula, and as you can see in the final trailer below, getting the two together as these characters looks to make for a must-see film.

Along with Hoult and Cage, the film also stars Awkwafina (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) in a key role with the cast also including Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Sand and Fog), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog), Adrian Martinez (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), and Brandon Scott Jones (Ghosts). Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) directed the movie using a screenplay by Ryan Ridley (Rick & Morty).

While inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Renfield is based on an original concept by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. You can read the official synopsis for the film below to get a better understanding of the story.

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Emmy nominee Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.
