Reaction: Jason Momoa’s Fast X Trailer Knife-Licking Leaves Fans Breathless

The first trailer for Fast X has given fans a very long look at the 10th movie in the Fast and Furious franchise, but more importantly, it gives the internet an instant new obsession – Jason Momoa’s villain Dante licking blood off a knife.

In all fairness, it doesn’t take much for social media to go wild for Momoa, so the online reaction to footage of him encapsulating his role as the movie’s antagonist should have been expected, and it will no doubt become just another big draw to the film when it is released in May.

The trailer delivered over three minutes of high-octane action that has certainly whetted the appetite for the first chapter in the Fast and Furious franchise’s swansong. However, it is clear that the biggest reaction on Twitter was all down to that Momoa lick.

The arrival of the first trailer for Fast X did not land alone but also came with a full synopsis of the movie that finally gave fans some idea of the penultimate story in the franchise, which includes many things alongside Jason Momoa’s Dante and his plans for revenge.

The synopsis reads:

“The end of the road begins. Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast & Furious Saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises, now in its third decade and still going strong with the same core cast and characters as when it began. Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Aquaman’s Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price. Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry, Black-ish) is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance. “

Of course, the final act of Fast X will likely resolve some things, but it will almost certainly set up Fast 11, which is already in development and will conclude the franchise after more than 20 years. However, Vin Diesel has already teased that spin-offs are in the works to continue the legacy of the Fast franchise indefinitely.
