Resident Evil fans, get ready for an exciting new addition to the franchise. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment just announced the release of “Resident Evil: Death Island”, a CG film set to release sometime in summer 2023.
The film follows popular Resident Evil characters, Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield, as they embark on separate missions that ultimately lead them to the infamous Alcatraz Island. Leon is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor, while Chris is investigating an outbreak in San Francisco. The teaser ends with a tantalizing shot of Jill Valentine, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what role she will play in the film.
Eiichirō Hasumi, director of “Assassin Classroom: Graduation”, will be directing “Death Island”. The script will be written by Makoto Fukami, known for his work on “Psycho-Pass”. This film is also a sequel to the widely panned 2017 film, “Resident Evil: Vendetta”.
