The Fate of the Furious Legacy Trailer Welcomes Charlize Theron

The countdown to the Fast X trailer is on! With just two days to go, the Fast & Furious franchise has been reliving some of its most iconic moments through a series of trailers. Today, they took a trip down memory lane with a look back at The Fate of the Furious.

Released in 2017, The Fate of the Furious follows Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto as he navigates a new threat. After settling down with Letty Ortiz, played by Michelle Rodriguez, Dominic is forced to work for Cipher, a cyberterrorist played by Charlize Theron. The film was a massive success, grossing over $1.2 billion at the box office and making it the second film in the franchise to surpass the $1 billion mark.

Fast X, the latest installment in the franchise, is directed by Transporter’s Louis Leterrier and written by Justin Lin and Dan Mazeau, with Lin still attached as a producer. The cast will include Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and Scott Eastwood, as well as newcomers Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, Brie Larson, and Alan Ritchson. Momoa is expected to play the film’s antagonist.

The tenth film in the franchise will take the family on a journey around the world, from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the bustling streets of Tbilisi. Along the way, old friends will be reunited, old enemies will return, and the true meaning of family will be put to the test like never before. Based on characters created by Gary Scott Thompson, Fast X promises to be a thrilling and action-packed ride.
